Malaysia's Rebirth?

Mahathir is nearly 93 (at the time of writing this article). My beloved ailing mum, 83. A mere difference of 10 years. But a world of difference when the will that drives the person exalts
thoughts and aspirations, not found in mere souls.

He was terminated from UMNO at a young age when words he used angered the then PM. Accepted in again by UMNO and went on to become the PM of Malaysia for more than 22 years until he resigned, only to reemerge to slap the wrist of his successor Abdullah Badawi or better known as Pak Lah.

Now, 15 years after his resignation, again he reemerges, this time to slap Najib - no, not only on his wrist, but more, and ended up taking over the helm of Malaysia.

I'm happy, proud, sad, frustrated, apprehensive, but above all, in awe and appreciative, though at a loss for words, that the inevitable has unfolded. He has given the inspiration to us so-called "over-the-hills", that there're other mountains to scale. It really is a new lease of life. A rebirth if you will.

What he'll do after this is no more a question, for apart from his experiences, he's got his back covered. He has full support of capable people, for the people, in light of, as he said, "the rule of law".

The question now is, are we all up for it ? Will we have the will to walk the talk?

A question that will linger.
